The former Tennis star Maria Sharapova who is the winner of 5 grand slams titles is facing a huge problem of dop testing. She said that she has been taking a dose named " meldonium" for the last ten years or so.She did not know whether it is banned or not. she also claimed that WADA ( world anti-doping agency) included meldonium in the list on 1st January 2016
She also criticized the tennis management for making the information too difficult to reach . She was actually wanted to say that tennis management should informed her before taking any kind of action about her.
Maria Sharapova also refused to take the medicine on daily basis. she said that Idid not take medicines on daily basis. she explained that I took the medicine only because of doctor's prescription. She took the medicines due to some heart problem, not for taking extra energy during the match. She feels that she is completely innocent and used the drug not knowing its its bad results.
As she has failed the test for doping then it is straightforward that she will be banned wether she has taken it deliberately knowing that ti is banned which will be considered "cheating" or taken it not knowing it is banned, which is negligence.
Now Maria Sharapovea has been banned since12th March 2016 for any kind of sports activity. She may be banned for a few months or may be for 4 years. We hope that Sharapova will make her comeback very soon because she has a great career a head.
